This painting is typical of his work and depicts a Shinty match which took place on the Quiraing table a flat grassy piece of land surrounded by pinnacles and crevices lying beneath the trotternish ridge in North Skye. The painting is 2 metres by 1.5 metres and hangs in the foyer of Aros, the local heritage centre Steve has assisted and produced work for local company and community projects.

Two such projects were the Skye stone and War time memories. The Skye stone was a sculpture project. Three bronze panels produced by senior pupils at the High school were laid onto the stone, a slab of granite 2.5 metres by 1.5 metres. 400 carvings of pupils designs were carved onto the stone around the panels.

The stone sits at the front of the school awaiting a prominent, permanent site, within the proposed new school building. War time memories involved working with the local primary school in the production of a national award winning magazine and multimedia CD. Both magazine and CD documented the social history of people from Skye during the second world war.
