Helping maintain paths
09 June 2009

The first event involved members of the Sconser community undertaking repairs to stonework on the path and the second event saw the group joining up with  John Muir Trust volunteers, clearing out drains and ditches along the first 1.5 miles of the path.

Donald Kennedy, became involved with the group not long after it formed. As upland footpath officer for Skye from 1996 to 2004 and currently access officer for the same area, he has managed  path repair and landscape restoration projects to all the major paths in and around the Cuillins.
‘I have worked on the very same routes that Collie and Mackenzie would have used to access the Black Cuillin ridge and its great  to be involved in a group who seek to commemorate their achievements’
